The Hunt for a New Support

 For a while now I have been searching for a champion to play as for a support roll other than Sona. Sona is alright in the sense she can provide health to her carry, but I was thinking of a good support tank that I would enjoy playing with that provides good crowd control.  Well I notice that Leona was on sale for RP this week and I decided to take a chance on her and buy her. I do not regret my decision whatsoever. Leona is a very good tank that not only is very beefy, but provides great amount of crowd control for her team to secure kills. Early game Leona is a very good aggressive partner with a ranged damage champion, because she zones the enemy damage champion away from his creep wave, causing him to get less creep kills. Leona does thus by standing in a nearby bush, scaring the enemy away from getting to close. The enemy knows that the moment they get to close they will be lunged upon and stunned, giving your team the best chance at securing 1 to 2 easy kills. So the choice for the enemy is to either stay back and lose overall creep score, which leaves them with less gold and fall behind on items, and therefore be weak in the game. Or to try and get creep kills and end up feeding and dying. Which just gives your damage champion kills and furthers their gold and item supply.

My First Job

    After many months of handing out resumes to various businesses throughout my general area and not getting any responses, I have finally obtained my first job. Most people will tell you that you get what you put in, in life, and unfortunately those people are wrong, it's all about who you know. My cousin Michael is a very good salesman for Future Shop and has been working there for many years, and he got me hired. Upon going to a 4 hour orientation, I was given my position as "Toy Specialist". This job entails me knowing about the entertainment department, which is video games and such. And me doing demo's of cool toys like flying helicopters around my department.

The Walking Dead Returns

         One of my favorite TV shows finally returns after a very long break between seasons. We last left off with the farmhouse being overrun with zombies and an epic showdown between the two alpha males of the show Rick and Shane. Shane asked Rick to help look for someone, only to be found alone with Shane in an empty field. Shane at this point in the series is nearly insane, but Rick however outsmarted Shane and killed him first with a knife. Shane then rises as a zombie and the group quickly learns that now live people after dying of natural causes become zombies. The farmland is overridden so the group has taken refuge elsewhere. One of the main characters was separated during the massacre and was rescued by some mysterious stranger with a sword and two zombies chained to her as if they were her pets. We do not know who this masked hero is, but will will soon find out on Sunday October 14th for the beginning of the 3rd season of Walking Dead!!!

The Hobbit

           I am very excited about the hobbit and it coming to the big screens. I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan. I have seen all three movies at least 5 times. The thing that makes them so great is that the plot is so epic that anything less then absolute awe is unacceptable. The Hobbit is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings, which is focused mainly on a young hobbit named Bilbo, which is Frodo's Uncle. Gandalf brings 13 dwarves to the shire and at Bilbo's house and asks him to come on an adventure. The hobbit reluctantly agrees and the long and dangerous journey begins. I have not read all of the book, so I am unable to say what will come of these brave hero's, but I ensure it will be entertaining.

How My Day Went

   Today, my peers and I set off to McMaster University to compete against other schools in a physics related event. Out of the many events to choose from, my group chose the egg toss. The event sounds simple, create a device to put an egg inside, throw the device at the target, and allow the egg to survive. The task seemed much easier than it was. We spent hours testing different techniques of construction so that the egg would not shatter, nearly all of them failing miserably. We finally got one to work that we did not entirely expect to work. Our device was a large amount of straws taped side by side to appear as if its a raft of some sort. We then rapped the straws around the egg and bent the ends together to create a somewhat football shape. After taping some sponge around the devices perimeter, our project was complete. We completed the task to it's fullest potential and were very very very happy ;D

League Of Legends Championship

          Right now the League of Legends World Championship is taking place. The championship started out with 8 teams that hailed from different places worldwide. The first to teams to compete were Moscow 5 and Invictus Gaming. Moscow 5 shut them down 2-0 in the 3 games series and advanced to the semifinals. The second match up in the quarter finales were the Taipei Assassins and NaJin Sword. Similarly to Moscow 5, Taipei Assassin's shut down NaJin Sword 2-0, sending them packing and advancing themselves to the semi-finals. The third match was Azubu Frost against team Solo Mid, and Azubu Frost won 2 times in a row to shut down TSM. The last group in the quarter finals were Counter Logic Gaming and World Elites. After losing the first match, CLG pulled off 2 wins in a row to secure themselves in the semi finals. In the semi final rounds, Moscow 5 started off strong against Taipei Assassin's, but unfortunately were destroyed 2 games in a row. CLG suffered a similar fate to Azubu Frost and now Taipei Assassin's are scheduled to go head to head with Azubu Frost on Saturday October 13 in an arena of skill, strategy, and destruction.

My Thoughts on the Religion Retreat

         Although it was a someone neat experience, I thought the overall trip was unnecessary. It was a good thought to visit the remains of our patron saint, but the 2 and a half hour drive there almost made the trip not even worth going. We left at 7:20AM and arrived 2 hours and 30 minutes later, which puts us at nearly 10AM. We then stayed and did the boring activities until 2PM and then arrived back at school around 5PM. That means we spent 4 hours at Midland and around 5 hours in the bus. The fact that the drive was most of our day really put a dent into what this trip was supposed to be about, and I recommend changing it in the future if we want to have a truly successful Religion Retreat.

The impossiblilities of getting a job D:

It is so hard to get a job these days, I have been going all around the area in search for my first real job. the reason I want a job so badly is because I am saving up for a car and wish to be able to buy my own things, without being trapped in the endless web of guilt from family members. Just to list off some places I have applied are staples, McDonalds, ToysRus, Subway, Talize, Food Basics, Tim Hortons, and many more. I have dropped off nearly 50 resume's to 50 local stores and I haven't even had as much as a callback from any of these places. I have been pondering for hours how this could be possible. And i have discovered maybe it is the large amount of elderly seeking jobs for not exactly entertainment, but just for something to do. I don't think it is fair for me to being busting my hump trying to find a job so I can start my life, and failing to attain one, just because some old geezer wants someone to talk to on the day to day bases.

Apple: iOS6

            Just recently, the Apple corporation has released a new operating system update for all Apple products, which in this case was iOS6. I personally do not find this update to be all that good. In this update they changed minor things such as having the top bar of your screen be a shade of blue rather than black, and having a few more options when dealing with photo albums. The one thing, however, that I and many others hate, is the new mapping system. For reasons I am not aware of, and quite possibly would not be able to fathom, Apple decided to get rid of the standard google maps app that came with the product, and replaced with their own mapping system. The reason I do not approve of this change is because the new mapping system is in all ways inferior to the previous google maps app. With this new map, all areas in Canada are black and white, and no street names are provided. However if an address is entered it will still pinpoint it. But the sheer fact that there is no display of streets around you is astonishing at least.

League of Legends: Nidalee

              Nidalee is one of the fierce champions in the league of legends. Nidalee is usually either an AD bruiser which means she is beefy in the sense she has a larger amount of health and is durable, but also can output some very good damage. Another way of playing Nidalee is by stacking alot of ability power, which will cause her spear tosses to do massive amounts of damage. This however is a more squishy build and is at greater risk of being killed.

              The lore of Nidalee says that she got lost in the thick jungles of Domacia and Noxus while her and her parents were treasure hunting. Although her parents died of disease, she was taken in as a child by a group of cougars and raised as their own.

Malcolm in the Middle

 
         This popular t.v. show is called Malcolm in the Middle. It depicts the life of Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) and his wacky family and all of the unfortunate things that happen to him. Malcolm is the middle child (hence the name Malcolm in the Middle) and is very smart, some might say genius. Coincidentally, Malcolm seems to be the most unlucky person on the earth sometimes, most of his problems coming from his family. Malcolm's brother reese (older brother) is a violent, half-witted miscreant. Malcolm does take part in alot of the hooliganism with reese and is commonly in trouble. Malcolm's mother Lois is a complete and utter control freak. Even though many of the times it seems like she is doing what is best, she very often freaks out and gives insane punishments to the boys.

Five guys Burgers and Fries

      The epic deliciousness known as "Five Guys Burgers and Fries" is by far the best burger establishment that I have ever eaten in. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, you are in pure bliss. Even first timers instinctively know how good the burgers are just from the menu. Five Guys Burgers and Fries has a wide range of toppings for your burgers such as peppers, mushrooms, anchovies, onions, and the list goes on. Every burger is given two patties and buying order of fries is basically getting two. Your order is contained in a brown paper bag, which shows that they don't need a fancy bag to be awesome. They first put your nicely wrapped burger in, then the fries, and they must seem to know how hungry you are, because the dump a whole order worth of fries on top of your actual order. After the epic nom nom nom fest, you leave completely satisfied.

Big Brother

           Big Brother is the popular summertime reaility show that showcases 12-14 people that have never met each other and locks them together in a house in a competition for a grand prize of 500,000 dollars. Every week there are three episodes, each of them having a different event taking place.

Thursdays are the most important days of the Big Brother week. It is the only day that the footage is live to the viewers. On the first Thursday of each big brother season (air date), the house guests compete for what is called that "HoH", which stands for head of household. The benefits and duties of being the Head of Household is that you are immune to eviction, and more importantly nominate two house guests to be on the chopping block (Which is two house guests that are nominated to be evicted). Every Thursday after the air date not only contain the HoH competition, but also has the Live eviction before it.
The next day of the Big Brother week is Sundays. These days are focused on Head of Household nominations, which is the ceremony that the Head of Household puts two house guests up for nominations. This day of the week also has a competition in which the people that preform the worst will be punished by sleeping in an uncomfortable room and are only allowed to eat slop and a dish that is America's choice.



The Last Day of the Big Brother week before the cycle repeats is Wednesday, which is the Power of Veto competition. The Power of Veto gives the player the power to remove a player off of the chopping block (essentially saving them), or to keep the nominations the same. Only the two nominated players, the HoH, and three randomly drawn people can play in the Veto competition. When a player used the Power of Veto on another player, the HoH is forced to replace the saved house guest with another house guest (Cannot be the winner of the PoV)

World of Warcraft: The Elements

            
                   Back when Azeroth was created, the Old Gods created Four Elemental Lords to keep balance over the world of Azeroth. The Four elements are earth, air, fire and water. Each element has an elemental lord that rules over their given territory.

          Al'Akir the Windlord is absolute ruler over the skies, air and storms.He is the weakest of the four Elemental Lords of the Old Gods. His domain is the sky over the Elemental Plane, which touches all of the other elements. Consequently, it "...interacts with them more than any other, and yet he is the most capricious and aloof of all the Lords. He is as likely to stir up trouble one day as he is to casually ignore incursions the next." His mood can quickly change, much like the weather. He is revered by all air elementals and creatures that fly. It is said that he is aware of all air spells that are cast anywhere throughout the multiverse - although this might be true, he rarely becomes personally involved in their resolution unless they affect him directly.




Neptulon the Tidehunter reigns supreme in his domain, the deep ocean. Users of boats and other such water-crossing utilities risk his wrath; entering his domain without express permission is tantamount to doom. He revels in taking those whom feel invulnerable, especially Therazane's rocky beaches and the flames of Ragnoros, when given the chance. He rules over all water, whether it be the sea, the ocean, river or lake. All water elementals worship him, as do all creatures that use water or the cold for their abilities. It is said that when an intelligent creature drowns, his or her soul will pass through his realm on the way to its end. It is supposed that he keeps those souls which amuse and interest him, but Neptulon only laughs at such suppositions.

 Therazane the Stonemother is ruler over the earth, dirt, rock, and mountains. She is revered by all earth elementals and creatures that dwell underneath the ground. Some druids of the wild see her as the embodiment of all that is peaceful and calm about the world. Some sages believe she feels pain whenever the ground is sundered and weeps at the destruction wrought by Deathwing and his ilk. If so, however, she has done nothing specific to oppose the great dragon. Therazane is the most peaceful of the Elemental Lords. She is a patient, loving, motherly type who encourages growing things and loves simply to spend long periods of time relaxing with those creatures that make their homes upon her.

 Ragnaros the Firelord is an incredibly powerful Elemental Lord and master of all fire elementals. He rules over his minions from deep inside the firey core of Blackrock Mountain. In the raid "Molten Core" the various players of World of Warcraft defeated Ragnaros, however he was not destroyed. When an elemental lord is killed in Azeroth, it is sent back to it's Elemental Plane. In the latest expansion of World of Warcraft, Ragnaros is defeated once again in his elemental plane, and is forever destroyed.

Pokemon

          This might sound bad, but if you are under the age of 20 and you do not recognize the word above I personally believe your life should end immediately. Pokemon is one of the most iconic and fun children's show and game and quite frankly I still like it to this day. For those of you who do not know, Pokemon is a show that takes place in a world where all animals are replaced with pokemon. These pokemon are able to be caught, trained, and battle against other pokemon and their trainers.

         Over the years there have been many new regions of pokemon which include (in order) Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova. Each of these regions contain new pokemon which throughout the years have greatly changed

Things I hate

Throughout life I have come across many things and people that I strongly dislike, or even HATE.

although not all of them deserve my hatred I'm pretty sure most of them do, and after showing you some of these things you'll understand.

We've all seen these people before. Those dumb teenagers that think their so cool and original because they dress up weird and dye their hair. I believe all of these people just want attention because they never received it at home. Well this isn't the way to get that attention so they should stop. In my eyes unique is a just a word that was invented so that certain people could make themselves feel better. And I do not agree with anyone that thinks this appearance and behavior should be accepted in society

Lately I've heard a lot of this Kony situation and I just think that it's not even worth the time to think about. When I say this I am not intending that this issue does not occur in africa, just as much I am not saying it is. I am just tired of north america being that parents of the world and having to solve every single issue that arises on earth. Why should everyone in north america give money to other countries simply because they had a natural disaster, I'm pretty sure earthquakes and tsunami's are a risk that everyone must accept exists on this planet, and we should not be required to bail them out. I'm not saying that we should exile ourselves from every other country on earth, but I wish that other countries could solve their own problems ad leave us alone.

      This next one is difficult to obtain a picture of, however I am going to describe it as best as I can. Have you ever been sitting down with some friends and some person you and your friends do not really even know sits down with you guys and decides to just hang around there? And then you and all of your friends go silent and do not say a word, yet the kid doesn't take a hint and remains there. I hate those situations. Why is it that most people cannot sense the awkwardness and just leave. Most people will say to just ignore the person and carry on with the conversation, but is it so weird to not want to talk about things in front of some person you do not even know.

          These are only a few things that I find wrong with society and if I had all day I could write much more

Soul Eater

           Soul eater is an anime that takes place is death city. Now normally you would think of death being an evil character, but in this case he is actually a good person and principal of Meister Academy. this academy is a school where meisters and weapons go to to learn how to fend themselves against evil and to eventually become a death scythe.

This is Soul, he is a weapon. Weapons are people who have the ability to morph themselves into a weapon which are used by meisters. In this anime weapons are to eat evil kishin souls (99 of them) and eventually a witch soul. After this they can become a death scythe, which is a weapon used by Death himself. Although weapons are very effective with partners (meisters) they can usually attack in human form as well with some part of their body.
This is Maka, she is a meister. Meisters are to use 

weapons in combat but also have some magical powers they can use to defend themselves and increase the effectiveness of their weapon. Throughout the series maka and soul work together to become a strong team and over throw the antagonist of the plot, the Kishin.

The Simpsons

              This lovely family in Springfield always has something interesting going on in their lives. Whether it be Homer injuring himself, Bart playing a hurtful prank, or Lisa showing off her saxophone skills. Homer is the dad in the family, however seems to be the least responsible. On several occasions Homer has severely injured himself to the point it's a surprise he still remains alive. Bart has always been the antagonist, and enjoys humiliating others. It is very often that Bart sets Homer up to be hurt or humiliated. Lisa (oldest daughter) is the "good kid". She most often does what is right, gets good marks in school, and is adored by adults.

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club

         This is one of my favorite movies of the 80's. It's about 4 students at the same high school who get in trouble and have to stay in detention Saturday morning. Each one of the students are different and pertain to different "cliques". John (top left) is the stereotypical bad kid that has drugs and always seems to do the wrong thing. Claire (bottom right) is the "rich girl" that has it easy in school because everyone  treats her like royalty. Andrew (top right) is the stereotypical "jock" that is on the wrestling team and would never hang out with this group. Brian (center) is known for being a "Geek" or "Loser", has little friends and the ones that are his friends are of the same social status. Finally Allison (bottom left) is a "basket case" and seems to be very weird and is a pathilogical liar. Through the entire movie these teenagers have arguments with each other as they begin to learn more about each other. By the end of the movie they all become friends, but the friendship ends the moment they leave detention, because nobody else at school would understand it. They just promised to always remember each other.

Seinfeld

          This popular show from the 90's is called "Seinfeld". It stars comedian Jerry Seinfeld with his three friends in New York and depicts all the antics they get into. In this show the characters have so many relationships with unimportant one-time characters, that you can't even begin to count. The reason these friends have had so many relationships is because they always manage to find one small insignificant flaw in a persons personality, and they can't get passed it. They have ran into so many situations where someone has caused them into a small inconvenience and they can't let it go; they will continue to fixate on this one small discrepancy until it blows up on them, leaving them with less dignity than they had before. Kramer (top right) is the only one that meanwhile being a goof, still manages to have things work out for him (mostly).

South Park

            You must have heard of this show before, because if you haven't, you must live under a rock. This is the hilarious t.v. show called "South Park". It stars four young boys in South Park Colorado that get into very tough situations in their seemingly small quiet mountain town.

This guy on the left is Eric Cartman. Cartman doesn't have and cannot understand the concept of morals. Cartman is always thinking of himself and has no problem with doing things that are considered morally wrong. Most people would say he doesn't have a conscience, and the only thing holding him back is his fear of some consequences.
There have been many situations when Eric would be considered evil. One example being when he tried to rally a group of supporters for "The Passion" (movie) and turn them into Nazis.
This boy on the right is Kenny. Kenny always has his big orange coat on (except for rare occasions in a few episodes) which blocks nearly everything he is saying. The audience cannot understand his sentences, however the characters in the show can. Kenny is most iconic for dying on numerous occasions and somehow coming back to life in the next episode alive with no explanation. Whenever Kenny does die, it is followed with Stan saying "Dude! You killed Kenny!", followed by Kyle saying "You Bastards!". The creators of the show made a funny episode when Kenny died and all the characters were sad for him, which brought irony to all  of his seemingly unimportant deaths. At this point they left Kenny dead for many episodes until he was brought back again later in the season.
